
Tangkuban Perahu
Tangkuban Perahu is a tourist object in Bandung, West Java province. The tourist object is located 30 kilometers from Bandung city. The route you can take to get there is Bandung – Ledeng – Lembang – Tangkuban Perahu.
If you go from Bandung to Tangkuban Perahu by motorcycle, you go from Dago to Pagerwangi to Lembang and finally to Tangkuban Perahu. Along the asphalt road you can enjoy watching Bandung from higher grounds. Going eleven kilometers from Lembang, you arrive at the gate of Tangkuban Perahu. In order to enter the tourist object, you are to pay Rp 12,500 for yourself, and Rp 4,000 for your motorcycle. (Rp 9,000 is the ticket for a car, and Rp 17,500 for a bus.) In the parking lot area, there is an interesting wall relief that describes the story of Sangkuriang and his mother Dayang Sumbi, the story of whom has long become a legend among the local people. As far as four kilometers from the gate, you will get to Tangkuban Perahu’s main trourist object, that is Kawah Ratu or the Queen Crater. The crater is very beautiful, but you have to be careful not to walk down near the crater because it is dangerous (there is poisonous gas that can come out of the crater unexpectedly). The landscape and view of Tangkuban Perahu is very beautiful, and the air is really fresh there. If you are a nature person, Tangkuban Perahu is a suitable tourist object to visit.
After enjoying the natural beauty of Tangkuban Perahu, you can shop some of the souvenirs available and sold on its location. The souvenirs include clothes, toys, dolls, and various handicrafts. You can also buy food and snacks, traditional medicines containing sulfur that are good to cure skin diseases, and other kinds of medicines.
Parangtritis Beach is a tourist object located in Bantul district, Yogyakarta. From Yogakarta’s Umbulharjo terminal, you can take a bus to the beach. There are two route alternatives that you can choose. Alternative 1: Yogyakarta – Imogiri – Siluk – Parangtritis. The distance is about 30 kilometers. By taking this route, you can see a cemetery of royal people. One attraction of this route is that it enables you to enjoy the beautiful view along the route, where there are many limestone hills with their unique shapes. Alternative 2: Yogyakarta – Kretek – Parangtritis. All kinds of transports take this route because it is an easy access to the beach.
Parangtritis is famous for its very beautiful beach where you can see a sand hill meets a stone cliff. You can relax along the beach while admiring its beauty and romantic atmosphere. You can certainly go swimming at the beach but you have to be careful not to go too far from the beach line because you can get caught in the sea water current and the nasty coral reefs there. Other than swimming in the sea, you can also enjoy one of the swimming pools that are available for the tourists in the area. Besides that, you can go around the beach by using a horse-driven cart called “andong” costing Rp 20,000 for one short trip. In the late afternoon, you can see and enjoy the beautiful view of the sunset. To many people, Parangtritis beach gives a kind of scary and mystical impression, but all that impression cannot hide the real beauty of the beach. At night time, you can enjoy eating various kinds of food sold along the beach by the local people.
To enter the beach location you just need to pay Rp 3,300. Hotels and inns near the parangtritis beach are well available and not very expensive. For a relatively good convenient room in a hotel or inn, the rate per night ranges from Rp 30,000 to 100,000.
